Mr. Tambourine Man - chords, tab and comments

Original version released on 1965 album "Bringing It All Back Home". Most successful cover - among incredibly many - is The Byrds version from the same year. It was also the title track of their first album. The song has become any buskers's property, and has almost been a plague on the streets, in markets and pubs for 50 years. So go on harassing people; now and then I do it myself. It may be played in *any* key, I've chosen G for personal vocal comfort.
C D7 G C
hey mister tambourine man play a song for me
          G Am D7
I'm not sleepy and there is no way I'm going to
C D7 G C
hey mister tambourine man play a song for me
        G Am D7 G ... G7
in the jingle jangle morning I come following you

           C D7 G C
though I know the evenings empire has returned into sand
G C G Am D7
vanished from my hand left me blindly here to stand but still not sleeping
    C D7 G C G C
my wearyness amazes me I'm branded on my feet I have no one to meet
        G Am D7 ... C [for refrain]
and the ancient empty street's too dead for dreaming
