Affair on 8th Avenue - chords, tab and comments

From Gord's album "Back Here on Earth" (1968). I first heard it from a compilation "Ballad of the Yarmouth Castle" in the early seventies. The song reminds me of one special girl from college, thus I play it rather often.
That girl and me have stayed in contact through more than forty years. She got married with a friend of mine. She sure got a better deal, but the perfume still lingers on.

the perfume that she wore was from some little store

on the down side of town

but it lingered on long after she'd gone

I remember it well

and our fingers entwined like ribbons of light

and we came through a doorway somewhere in the night
