Fields of Gold - guitar chords and comments

Lyrics without distraction HERE

I think I first heard this beautiful celtic inspired song performed by Eva Cassidy, released posthumously with the album "Songbird"(Blix Street 1998). Once you've heard a song sung by Eva, it's nailed, and any other version turns pale. Gordon "Sting" Summer is surely among the best singers and songwriters ever, but I've never gotten familiar with his original recording on "Ten Summoner's Tales" (1993). But indeed; I'm happy he wrote it.
G C G C C9
you remember me when the west wind moves
C D7 G
among the fields of barly
        Em C Bm
you can tell the sun in his yellow sky
        C6 Cmaj7 D6 D7 G
when we walked in fields of gold

D D7 G
I never made promises lightly
D D7 G
there have been some that I broken
C Am Bm
but I swear in the days still left
        C6 Cmaj7 D6 D7 G
we will walk in fields of gold
