Flushed from the Bathroom of Your Heart - guitar chords and comments

Lyrics without distraction HERE

The song was first recorded and released by Archie Campbell in 1965. Johnny Cash played it solo live at Folsom Prison. No other versions are found, but Cash recorded MANY of Jack Clement's songs, already from the very beginning at Sun Studio, Memphis.

This song *is* a parody, I believe - a parody on Nashville Country Style - and ought to be taken to the limit, also even way passed it. To "Cowboy" Jack Clement(Jack Henderson Clement, 1931–2013), nothing seemed to be really serious; not even his own life-long nourishment as a songwriter, producer, musician and mentor. BMI lists up 176 titles.
G G7 C
from the back door of your life you swept me out dear
       D7 G
in the breadline of your dreams I lost my place
G G7 C
at the table of your love I got the brush off
           D7 G G7
at the Indianapolis of your heart I lost the race

           C G
I've been washed down the sink of your conscience
G Em A7 D7
in the theatre of your love I lost my part
            G G7 C
and now you say you've got me out of your conscience
            G D7 G
I've been flushed from the bathroom of your heart
