King of the Road - chords, tab and comments

Ever since I was a boy, this 1965 crossover record hit has resided in memory. The song about a happy hobo rapidly became a standard, and this is probably the reason for not playing it myself until recently ... added the fact that it's hard to snap fingers while playing guitar :-D
Songwriter, singer, guitarist, fiddler, drummer, TV star *and* humorist Roger Dean Miller recorded his career hit 3th of November 1964, after struggling for quite a long time with the lyrics. It started with this. The multi-talented artist died of cancer in 1992, only 56 years old, but his third wife Mary and friends still maintain an extensive memorial website.
