Proserpina - chords, tab and comments

19th of January 2010 Kate McGarrigle passed away, after fighting Sarcoma - a rare form of cancer - for 3 years. 9th of December, 4 weeks earlier, she performed on stage for the last time, together with family and friends at Royal Albert Hall, London in "A Not So Very Silent Night" - a charity concert in aid of the fund carrying her own name. She brought the audience to the ceiling launching a brand new song: Proserpina.
The song is a truncated version of roman mythology's explanation of why the seasons are changing. You'd better read about it HERE. The song is dedicated to her daughter Martha Wainwright, who waited for two years until she recorded it for her album "Come Home to Mama". Kate was too short of time to make it. I got it from YouTube immediately after I received the bad news.
Thank You, Kate. This was a dignified end of a great life and career.
