al anderson
"Big" Al Anderson (Alan Gordon Anderson, 1947 - ) has some renown indeed as a songwriter, but I'd never heard about him until I picked up this jolly one from Matthews' Southern Comfort's 1970 album "Later That Same Year". My late wife used to love this ... sigh, she was some kinda girl like that herself, God bless her.
and when she smiles she makes the sun shine
and fills the day with morning dew ...
and when she smiles she makes a sigh
she doesn't have a point of view ...
and when she smiles she makes the sun shine
she wouldn't claim to make it rain ...
... happiness runs in the family
she's a girl from the good old earth and the high tree forest
she's just about the happiest girl that I ever knew
