john denver
I've never had a thing about John Denver, but he didn't have to crash his plane - he had a remarkable good, bright voice, and some day he might have written another chicken skin song like this simple one.
It's an ode to his wife, and I don't think the later divorce was caused by this 😡 ... it's told to have been written within ten minutes on a ski trip to Aspen, Colorado - added one hour with the piano later, to differ it from Tchaikovsky's Fifth Symphony, Second Movement. He'd been told by arranger and composer Milt Okun that the melody was VERY close.
The final result was released as a single May 1974, an a month later opened his album "Back Home Again". It's been covered way past 200 times, even by Placido Domingo!
you fill up my senses like a night in the forest
like the mountains in springtime
like a walk in the rain
like a storm on the desert • like a sleepy blue ocean
you fill up my senses • come fill me again
come let me love you • let me give my life to you
let me drown in your laughter
let me die in your arms
let me lay down beside you • let me always be with you
come let me love you • come love me again
