BLISTERED - chords and comments

In 1963 Billy Edward "Edd" Wheeler released the album "A New Bag of Songs". That bag contained this song as well as his more famous "Jackson". Johnny Cash grabbed them both. First he got a Grammy for "Jackson" together with his howling, jarring wife. In October -69 CBS released "Blistered" as a single (Flip side "See Ruby Fall") to promote his following 33th studio album "Hello, I'm Johnny Cash" (1970). He stripped off all the 7th chords, let Bob Wootton and Fluke Holland go rattling berserk and turned the bluesy skiffle song into a country-rock porridge. Ravage! But it sold. None of Wheeler's own recordings ever did. But here we go, oh yeah: preserve the 7th's, damn it!
