khawaga
This song was written in the desert sands of Egypt, in 10th of Ramadan, where I served as a printing supervisor for years. Back in Norway I had a girlfriend. I used to return on vacation twice a year or so, and every time she came around for social matters, staying with me most of the time. She'd been a part of my life quite a long time before I emigrated, and six months without her comfortable presence was a real pain.
When I finally came back for good, she vanished. My songs "Aftermath", "Dawn Dream" and "Mantle for the Core" are also written about that woman, along with a couple never to be finished. The lady was a tramp, a bitch, a beauty and a burn.
running norton scandisk : lost file allocation map
my life is fragmented and my days they all boot up wrong
rebuilding desktop : scrolling bars gotten stuck in a trap
due to bugs in the files of the system where you belong
I can see you everywhere
I can see your body in the walking green
in silhouets far and near
and I guess I'll spend the rest of my days looking for your twin
my twilight lady
lost property counter : important luggage claim
my suitcase of tenderness and loaded up with all my heat
wrong address and label or incorrectly written name
lost track of my sense and caught some sorrow I got to delete
I can feel you everywhere
your gentle breath and the touch of your chin
your tender ways of care
and I guess I'll spend the rest of my days looking for your twin
my twilight lady
late night cartoon show in a country far away
every second song seems to lead all my thoughts to you
goodnight wishes fragile just like ancient china clay
shatter my pens and my brush and turn my colors blue
I can hear you everywhere
your thrilling laughter in the southern wind
your steps coming up the stairs
and I guess I'll spend the rest of my days looking for your twin
my twilight lady
cold cruel mornings or some tinseled afternoons
coming down with the same old mood and showing same old scene
incandescent sunlight or bloodful midnight moons
turn pale as your picture in my mind is taking all the sheene
I've been searching everywhere
but my deck of cards' without a single queen
our lives were never meant to be shared
and I guess I'll spend the rest of my days looking for your twin
my twilight lady
